We always need volunteers to help The Brittany Foundation.
Volunteer work at the ranch can include:
- Cleaning kennels
- Walking dogs
- Playing with the dogs in our large run
- Small landscape, handyman, and maintenance projects
- Office help
We always need volunteers at any of our adoption events throughout the Santa Clarita Valley and Los Angeles. Volunteers transport dogs to events, set up and break down the booth, and interact with the public to try to make the perfect human/canine match.
We have many fundraising events throughout the year, from comedy nights to our annual Day In Their Paws. Volunteers can acquire donations for raffle and silent auction prizes, sell tickets or raise sponsorship funds, publicize the event, and much more.
Our monthly bake sales, held the fourth Sunday of each month, are a particularly popular fundraiser. We need bakers to provide homemade goodies for sale, as well as volunteers to man the busy booth at the Santa Monica Airport.
One area where we could really use help in is grant writing. Our sanctuary relies largely on grants to keep our doors open, so if you’re experienced with grant writing and wish to use your volunteer time this way, it would be greatly appreciated.
Volunteers are also needed to help publicize our dogs available for adoption through the many print, radio, television, and online media outlets such as Facebook, AdoptaPet.com, and Petfinder.com. This allows you to work from home as a virtual volunteer and is very convenient for those who are not able to make it to the sanctuary or various events.
Groups such as the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, and Elks are welcome, as well, whether you want to come down and provide hands-on work or wish to create a special fundraising effort through your organization. We are flexible, creative, and open to your ideas.
