The Brittany Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, care and placement of homeless dogs. We run a no-kill facility.
We rescue all dogs, regardless of breed, and we often focus our efforts on the harder-to-place dogs such as seniors, disabled or abused dogs, and "media condemned" breeds such as Pit Bulls, Chow Chows, & Dobies.
10th Annual A Day in Their Paws!
We're excited to announce our 10th annual "A Day in Their Paws" event on Saturday, October 13, 2018! There will be an open house at the sanctuary from noon - 4 pm, with refreshments, raffle, silent auction, sanctuary tours, and more.
A Day in Their Paws is a unique event that pairs human and dog on "lockdown" together for up to 24 hours, raising awareness of how rescue dogs live day after day, sometimes for months or even years. The "inmate" volunteers also raise funds to care for the dogs at the sanctuary by finding sponsors to "bail them out" for $1 per minute.
As volunteers choose their dog to spend a day with, we will post their photos with individual paypal buttons on our Events page here. You can also make a donation to the General Day in Their Paws fund by clicking the photo to the right. General donations will be allocated across the pool of volunteers.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and we hope to see you on October 13!

Many of you know our friend and former Adoption Coordinator, Gwen Romani. Gwen touched many lives, and her passing on September 17 has saddened the entire Brittany Foundation family, as well as her many loving friends and family members.
Gwen volunteered with The Brittany Foundation for over 10 years. In addition to adopting several dogs from us over the years, she worked directly with our dogs at the ranch, served as our Adoption Coordinator, and contributed so many great ideas as well as thousands of hours of her time. She was a huge advocate for helping dogs to stay in their existing loving homes, rather than being surrendered when owners were going through a hard time. In her honor, we have established the Gwen Romani Community Outreach Fund.
The purpose of the Fund is to provide resources and access to care, so that struggling families are able to keep their dogs. We will work with our many supporters, including other non-profits, to identify families in need and to evaluate how we may be able to help. More details will be forthcoming in the near future.
Please consider donating to the Gwen Romani Community Outreach Fund. It’s a way to honor an amazing woman, and a way to help us give back to the community that has supported The Brittany Foundation for so long.

Monte: "I am here because my family thought I got too old. I am about 12 years old and I've lost most of my teeth, but that doesn’t slow me down from being first in line when it’s treat time! I am a little shy at first but I like short walks, and have made it my job to watch over the yard of the senior dogs here. The staff have voted me “Mr. Hustle,” they are surprised at the ground I can cover in a short period of time around the senior play yard."
