The Brittany Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, care and placement of homeless dogs.

The dogs are shown at our weekly adoption program at our sanctuary in Agua Dulce. Please check our schedule for adoption events. While in our care, the dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and given a thorough check-up along with any necessary medical attention. Our dogs are also microchipped.  If dogs are not adopted, they will live at the sanctuary for their entire life.  We run a no-kill facility.

We rescue all dogs, regardless of breed, and we often focus our efforts on the harder-to-place dogs such as seniors, disabled or abused dogs, and "media condemned" breeds such as Pit Bulls, Chow Chows, & Dobies. It's relatively easy to find a home for a cute little terrier, but the gratification for us comes from placing the 6-year-old Pit Bull with one eye, the stray mutt who has never had a home before, or the 12-year-old Doberman with severe separation anxiety (who is now living in a wonderful home of his own). Of course, we also have the adorable, easy, well-behaved angels who are still searching for their forever homes too.

Memorial Balloon Release and Chili Cookoff!

Please join us at our annual Chili Cookoff and Memorial Balloon Release at The Brittany Foundation Sanctuary on Saturday, May 9!  Our mystery chefs will be competing for Best Chili, and after the Cookoff we will be releasing balloons in memory of our loved ones.

Brittany Foundation Sanctuary
Saturday, May 9, 2015
11:00 - 2:00
If you have not been to the sanctuary before, please call 661-713-5240 for directions

For each donation of $10, we will inscribe your loved one's name on a balloon and then release them all together.  Click here to see a video of our first year's balloon release.  Human, doggie, kittie or any soul that you have loved and lost deserves a special remembrance balloon.

For our eco-concerned friends, we release eco-friendly latex balloons which decompose at the rate of an oak leaf, and shatter at the change of temperature. No wildlife or marine life is injured with the use of these.

Our event will run from 11 am to 2 pm. We will release the memorial balloons about 1:00 pm. Please RSVP to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 661-713-5240 if you will be attending the Chili Cookoff and the number of people attending.

To participate in the Memorial Balloon Release, please click on the Paypal button below and write your loved one's name in the box provided.  Online donations must be posted by May 7.

You may also donate via mail; please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 661-713-5240 if you would like a form emailed or faxed to you.

Paw Punch & Derby Punch

A friend of The Brittany Foundation is developing a product to support optimal health in dogs and horses.  "Paw Punch and Derby Punch are both 100% Organic Water Enhancements that are formulated and bottled in the USA.  Each organic ingredient has been carefully selected for aiding in the beneficial effect in overall health and performance.  Both products contain electrolytes and pure therapeutic grade oils that have many benefits."  For more information on this product and to support its development, please check out the Kickstarter site and help out if you can!  If this product acquires enough funding for development, The Brittany Foundation will be the recipient of the first donation to a rescue.  We'd love to see the product developed, both for the benefit of our dogs at the sanctuary, and so that it will be available to the public.

We are Volunteers

volunteers

The Brittany Foundation is an all-volunteer organization. Our devoted staff handles the care, feeding, event coordination, public awareness campaigns and many other needs for our busy facility. Brittany Foundation volunteers know each dog personally, and they know how to assist you in finding the right dog for your needs, home and lifestyle.

Without the devotion to animals that the Brittany Foundation volunteers bring to our organization, we could not survive to help these dogs find homes.

If you are interested in volunteering, check out the "How to Help" section of our website. Even if you can't give a dog a home, you can make a difference in an animal's life. The Brittany Foundation is always seeking fellow dog lovers to assist our humane mission.

Even if you can't adopt, our dogs could still use your support. It's easy! Just click on the PayPal button below. Thank you.

We need labor for construction, landscape maintenance, providing socialization and care for the dogs in their kennels, staffing events and administrative tasks. We are a working ranch that always has projects which require help, for example with brush clearance during fire season.
